2009-2010 EditionsWhat is Club Read?
Club Read is a program developed by Perma-Bound's in-house librarians that provides an easily accessible avenue of information and material that your students will love and want to read. The booklists are compiled by a Curriculum Specialist and the titles are chosen for a "very specific" subject of books. The topics selected inspire recreational reading as well as present classroom study opportunities. Each booklist generated is supported by a credible source, showing research that has been done to substantiate the benefits of the topic and booklist.
The Questions:
How do you get your students to read? Is lifelong reading a goal you have established for your students? Would you like them to read high-quality trade books that encourage an understanding of the connections in their lives as well as assist classroom goals?
The Answer:
Club Read topics and booklists are aimed to help build your students interest in reading and their reading ability by utilizing the following items:
- Lifelong literacy
- Differentiated Instruction
- Thematic topics
- Discussion-generating concepts
